The Sahara, a Moroccan eatery, is scheduled to open at The Commons at Federal Way’s food court early March 2010. The Sahara is located next to Subway.
Owned and operated by Salam Saouadi, former Executive Chef for Newport Bay Restaurant in Kirkland and Tukwila, Washington, Salam has 20 years experience in food prep and kitchen operations in leading markets. He also worked at Bennigan’s in St. Petersburg, Florida.
The menu includes a variety of couscous, chicken, beef and vegetable dishes. Lamb dishes, such as Lamb Mrouzia and Lamb Kebabs, soup and salads are also on the menu.
“The Commons is constantly on the look out for great, local talent,” says Tiffany A. Archibald, Marketing Manager. “Salam follows national and local retailers, such as Cinnabon, which got their start at The Commons, formerly known at SeaTac Mall.”
The Sahara joins other national chains such as Baskin Robbins, Sbarro, Orange Julius, Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, Bliss Non-Fat Yogurt, Gyros House and Starbucks as specialty eateries.
